Ask Francesco Coacci how he ends up where he does, and the answer is consistent: he gravitates toward the hardest thing and refuses to leave until he understands it.

Growing up in Genoa, he raced sailboats competitively, drawn to the challenging nature of the sport. Engineering came later, and almost by accident. His older brother, then studying physics, pitched a project to build a video game. The two of them finished a playable game before he turned 16.

From there it compounded. He started taking freelance work for businesses around Genoa, wiring together websites and small deals. In 2023 Frank crossed the Atlantic for a master's at NYU, splitting his time between computer science at Courant and business strategy at Stern. While he was there, he and his brother stood up a consumer data marketplace, pulled in venture funding, and had hundreds of early users.

Monk was the next hard thing, and it was hard in exactly the way he likes.

At Monk, Francesco runs the buildout of our collections agents. Our platform orchestrates over $1B of receivables, which means one invented detail or one badly timed interaction costs significant revenue dollars and can do real damage to customer relationships that teams have spent years building. Francesco obsesses over this challenge with extreme craft and ownership to not only deliver our customers accuracy, but beautiful products that genuinely help them scale their businesses and get paid fast.

Francesco’s discipline is the core of how Monk builds. We constrain our agents deliberately, wrap them in guardrails, and run evals to provide our customers with powerful and precise automation, because in finance the last thing anyone wants from automation is a surprise.

Francesco builds at Monk because he knows that the hard, unglamorous parts are the most impactful ones. We're assembling a talent-dense team of multiple 2nd time founders who share these core values
