Introducing Pause invoices

Most collections tools are built to send more. More reminders, more follow-ups, more pressure. The unspoken assumption is that getting paid means never going quiet.
That assumption is wrong often enough to cost you. A lot of AR lives in the space between chasing and not chasing. A customer commits to paying in three weeks. A payment plan gets agreed. An account is waiting on an internal approval. None of those are disputes, and none of them should keep getting the same reminder sequence as if nothing was ever said. Sending into that moment doesn't get you paid faster. It just strains the relationship.
So we built the opposite of another reminder. You can now pause collections on an invoice in Monk.
How pause works
Pause collections on an invoice and set an end date. While the pause is active, Monk stops sending reminders on that invoice but keeps tracking it, so it never drops out of view. When the pause period ends, collections resume automatically. No manual restart, and nothing slipping through.
You can pause for 30, 60, or 90 days, set a custom date, or pause indefinitely.
Why pause instead of stop
Stopping collections puts the work on someone to remember to turn them back on. That's how invoices go quiet and then go uncollected. Pause keeps the invoice tracked and puts a clock on the silence, so follow-ups restart on their own the moment the agreed window closes. The relationship stays intact, and the cash stays on your radar.
When to use it
Pause is built for the in-between moments that aren't disputes but shouldn't trigger another reminder:
- A customer commits to paying by a specific date
- A payment plan is in place and the next installment isn't due yet
- An account is waiting on an internal approval or PO
- A relationship needs a short, deliberate hold
Available now
Pause is live this week for all Monk customers. You can pause an invoice from its collection view and set the end date that fits the situation.
